I remember going to the Dodge showroom in 1956 with my dad when he bought a new Dodge.
They had a light box with a line drawing of the 56 Dodge on the front. You then slid colored transparencies of the available colors into the box to show what your car could look like in your chosen colors. I played with that damn thing for at least an hour. Talk about pre computer!
Thanks, Gary for the picture. This is a rare 3 tone paint choice. An expensive upgrade!

That's my mom and sisters washing that black 57 when new. Posted this one awhile back. I was still three years out. Heard several stories of this car while growing up including the time a neighbor kid ran through the closed sliding glass door at this house and got cut up pretty good, mom was a strong willed Swedish woman, did not shy away from any kind of trouble, she snatched that kid up, put her in the back seat of this 57 and hauled ass to Waldo hospital in North Seattle [same hospital I would be born in three years later]. Mom made dam sure she covered the back seat up with plastic before emergency dash, not going to be any blood stains on Viola's upholstery! This June she's been gone 16 years, sure do miss that woman.
