  2. WARNING - Non-Traditional Radial Tires in the below photos

I've been known to "preach" a little on the subject of "Wheels and Stance". When getting the stake truck ready for it's debut, I chose to go with a tall enough tire to appropriately fill the rear fenders. Tall and fat enough to look cool, but not overdo it. On a '40, I'd normally run 165/80 15's up front, but the truck already had some killer rake with the tall boys out back, so I opted to ditch the plans for a dropped axle and chose a tire that would fill the fender opening up front, so I went with 215/70 15's. While it doesn't sit low, it sits good and the wheels and tires fit the theme.

CrossingMuddyWaters.jpg The coupe runs tried and true American TTOs, with 165's and 235's out back. Thanks to a generous Christmas gift from my pop, it now has nice new Drake running boards, and these ones have been put away for a future beater.

Now for the case in point...A "rescue" from summer before last.

BeforeAndAfterStance.jpg The '40 MorDor was a trade for my '54 F100 that I had pretty much lost interest in, and I could get excited about bringing a '40 back from being abandoned. It sat like a 4x4, so a stance adjustment was in definite order. Being that I was gonna flip the car, I used some wheels on the rear that we took off of Dad's T coupe, and bought some skinny's for the front. Got some 235/75's out back and the standard 165/80's up front. While ya can't polish a turd, it did make it more presentable with "Stance and Wheels".

Finally got mine out for a spin today so thought I'd share a good picture of the revised stance on my roadster with the new tires and WITHOUT all the clutter in my shop! IMG_3087.JPG Also found out those big rollers on the back were good for 15 mph at only 40 MPH on the speedometer!!

Come a little warmer weather and we'll see what it looks like with the top down.

Totally agree on wheels and stance..
I tried many options on my '63 Biscayne, finally settling on this combo.
    I really like it..

    Flying Brian,
Any set of those Wheels/Tires will do. ;). I’ve always liked its coverage in Street Rodder in its previous incarnation as well as the Ardun powered 32 also featured.
    Great job on the build!!!

These guys above have the right idea for stance,
These Hot Rods below give one a choice in wheels,
    Mind you, just examples: 5BCD3A7A-3ECE-47EA-AF13-25B09DD9266B.jpeg 1D4E2986-DED1-4F7E-BA88-3B58E161C76D.jpeg 0A061407-27D4-4737-A5A4-EE8F49FB384A.png 22B363C7-F77C-40CF-93A9-ADBC94A5C7E5.png
