Technical What's With These Heads?

Just seen these heads posted un the induction thread by @loudbang and thought WTH? I know they tried to cut weight where ever they could back then but...

 

For better air cooling maybe?

 

They are a fraction lighter and let the light in!

 

Martian termites? (I think I once saw a sci fi movie about that.)

 

Whoever did that had the patience of a toothache.

 

I think it was for cooling.
Gives it more surface area.

 

Drilled all the way into the water jackets?

I don't know about the flat head V-8, or the heads on it, but that's a Kent Fuller ch***is for sure. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.

 

I think whomever did that was smoking Martian Cigarettes

 

Or maybe he did it because he had a headache.

 

I'd say better cooling. Obviously no water in it.

 

Must be a 2 piece head.

 

I am going with no coolant in the motor as well. No need on a 1/4 mile car.
