Ok, here's some updated pics I did this weekend and past weekends inside the cab. Door panels with foam backing for the handles, handles, arm rest, align doors so they can shut right, and wiring (I had it wired 4 yrs ago at a shop, just making it kinda look right). Anyways, I've been cleaning up the wiring to make it look better by wrapping with friction tape and making it look a lil better than before. I've re-connected the fuse connections to the original box (didn't take a pic), I had a gm keyed column (gasp!) and reconnected the wiring to the original dash ignition (better) and misc. stuff. I want the inside to be clean, to the point and dressed up little better than original. Again I'm going for that early fifties mild custom look. The panels will get replaced later with rolls n pleats to match the headliner and armrests too! (White) but this will do for now. The handle are 37 chevy car with escuthceons from 38 ford. The sun visor are swap meet special and the base is a 49 chevy car. And the brake pedal whick was from a 60's GM car. So I bought another pedal and orig. emergency brake pedal from the junkyard and welded them, so it looks more in sync with the rest on the inside. It came out good and works great. I hope have this bundle of joy on the road agian soon, later.

    Ken,

Your truck's coming along great! It's definitely one of my favorite projects on this board. I love the subtle early 50's look!

Nice work on the pedal pad. I might steal that idea! Right now I have an ugly street rod pad that came with my CPP brake pedal bracket. I had thought about installing a Ford F-1 pad, but why not harvest the one from my e-brake (which I'm switching to a '57 Ford underdash unit for more leg room).

Are you planning to use full length door panels? I like the look of the metal, but a full length pad would help keep things quiet.

    Ken,

What is that wheel from? Early 50's Caddy?

    Thanks,

Is that a clock on the glovebox door? Rare dealer option, or cleverly done custom touch by you? Looks great.

  5. Very nice, I like it. Second the opinion on the full length door panels. Mine is much nicer to spend a few hours in after I did that and some good soundproofing on the floor and under the headliner. I dig the clock in the GB door, is that factory? Never seen it before. I have a ‘50 that has the dreaded GM “key” column. (I put it in back in the ‘80’s. I know better now) but I want the Ign back in the dash where it belongs. Did you replace the column, or grind it off and repair the column somehow? Looks a lot like a Chevy Van column in there now. Also add me to the list on “What’s that wheel out of?”

Let me guess.... the wheel's from about a 50 Buick?

    Nice looking interior.
