I have a 55 Ford Customline (same as fairlane) with a 223 stock motor and a 3 speed manual transmission. I siezed the engine yesterday and need to do an engine swap. My friend has a 302 with an overdrive automatic ****** that I would like to put in. So, Im starting to collect the parts to do the swap. Oh did I mention its a 6 volt and I will aslo be converting it to a 12 volt. Has anyone done this swap? is there anything I should know before I dive in? .....??????,,,,,,,,

I have a 54 Ford Mainline that I pulled the 6 out of it and the ****** and put a 302 and AOD in it. Now this was in a 54 so I am not sure what all differences might be there but what I ended up doing is building a custom cross member for the ****** and the stock mounts work as long as I had about a 1/4 steal plate in it to raise the motor a bit. Hope this helps. If you have any more questions I will try to help.

How about the drive shaft, did you have to get a new one (Im positive I will have to). How about the Radiator - was the stock radiator big enough?

I used the drive shaft from the AOD and had a machine shop balance it and change out the connections at the rear. I also used the stock 302 Radiator because I had it. I can get some pics later but here at work I have none. Tell me what you want so I can take the photos for you.
