sorry, I'm sure this has been covered but I couldn't find anything specific in my search- what readily available brake kit can I throw on a stock A frontend- preferably disc? I know, disc, but the 460 and nose high stance are gonna stress these brakes and I don't want any fade :D

Or, will 49-54 Chevy spindles bolt onto Stock A axle?

    thanks

Lot's of brake info in the "TechOmatic" section...you'll find the info you need, but you may have to do some spindle swapping to get an easy fit for the recommendations you'll find.

Don't think Chevy spindles will fit.

A book call Model A Ford Mechanics Handbook By Les Andrews devotes 39 pages on how to adapt 28-31 Fords to hydraulic brakes using 39-48 Ford backing plates and 40-48 drums. He also shows how to install a dual master cylinder, flair brake lines etc. The book is published by Cottage Hill Publishing of Gr*** Valley California. It can be purchased from any Model A restorer co.
It has a green cover with gold lettering. Hope this helps.

use 39-48 spindles for the correct bolt hole pattern and get a disk brake kit from speedway or **** spadaro . they are available with ford or chevy rotors depending on your wheels
