Greetings from South Dakota, New to the site, and I am enjoying all the great discussions thus far.A wealth of knowledge here. This is my 1st time posting thank you. Was hoping I could get some help with a unique BMW Veritas Mystery. I was contacted yesterday by a gentleman from Wisconsin who was looking for some information on his late friends 1949 BMW Veritas RS, that he worked with Wayne Bolt of Wisconsin. Now this was not your ordinary Veritas Roadster RS in 1965 this was a small Block gaser/dragster holding a “World Record”. Yeaaaa, I was thinking the same thing, a dragster come on, but then the photos arrived by the email and sure as shit There she was a real life vintage 60’s era blown Veritas. I was hoping to help the gentleman and the late “Wayne Bolt’s Family” find out a little more info on the fate on this Post War aluminum bodied roadster. They were unsure of were it ever ended up! Or if by chance there are more vintage photos of the Wisconsin Veritas A good mystery nothing more nothing less Thanks in advance TheVeritasFarm
Cool looking car and like my fellow hamber said,I've never seen one ether. There are a lot of people here that might be able to shed some light on the mystery . HRP
It's not a gasser. It is CM/SP which means C- for class (Weight per Cubic Inch) M-Modified SP- Sports Car
Do you know what it ran? N.H.R.A. A.H.R.A. I.H.R.A. N.A.S.CA.R. drags Knowing this would really help find some history.
WHAT'S NOT HAMB RELATED ABOUT A BLOWN GASSER?? I SAW THAT CAR YEARS AGO THIS HAD A BEAM AXLE IN IT IT'S NOT AND ANGLIA OR A TOPOLINO BUT HOME BUILT HOT ROD RACE CAR DRAG RACING OR B'VILLE SPORTS CAR. YOU DON'T HAVE MUCH CHOICE ...T-BIRD? CORVETTE? KAISER DARREN? AT LEAST HE DIDN'T CUT UP ANYTHING GOOD....
@TheVeritasFarm no history on your car, but a lot of history and photos of the old Modified Sports Car class in this link- http://georgeklass.net/mod-sports.html
THANK YOU .... PALMER MY FIRST VERITAS HAD A SB FORD IN IT..... THE GUY TOOK $$$$ OFF THE PRICE TO KEEP THE ENGINE..... TOOK ME MANY HOURS TO GET ALL THE EXTRA JUNK OUTTA IT. AT LEAST THE "BUILDER" HADN'T CUT THE FRAME ..TOSSED THE REAR END OR THE FRONT SUSPENSION. THE ALUMINUM BODY WAS STILL IN ONE PIECE.
