Awesome, that is definitely the car.
Otie won class at the 60 Nationals in it.
It was a Chassis Research Chassis.
Otie also ran that car off the end of Dragway 42 and into the corn when he broke the brake handle off.
I know Bill Smith has kept in touch with Steve over the years. He usually stops by Bills house on his trips to Indy.
Bill claims Steve told him that car was sold to someone in Detroit.

I didn’t build this to be a show car, but we won our first trophy , first place in the vintage race car class at Cleveland I-X Piston Powered Auto-Rama.

That is the Dragmaster chassis. I wish I had it, or at least one of those chassis.

Nice, I have that mag. I'd like to build that one someday. Otie started racing in 51, but the 27 T was his first race only car. Otie raced that car from 56-58. He raced it in 56 and 57 with the SBC, for 58 it got a 354 Hemi. Otie then built his first 23 T altered that he won the 59 Nationals with.
