hey everyone, my name is Emilio,I am 15 and I am building a 1947 Chevy Coupe. I started the project with my Dad, who has recently p***ed away. I was so looking forward to doing this with my Dad and really getting into the hobby he loved so much. He loved it not only for the cars, but for the people, and now I know why. I have received so much help from different HAMB members especially Wayfarer. My brother is wayfarer's best friend and without my bro, I dont know if i could do this. He is away at college right now, but with his experience from building his 37 chevy, he has provided me with a ton of long distance help. I just wanted to let everyone know how much this means to me and how hard I am going to try to finish this car, not only for me, but for my Dad

Welcome, but go ahead and yourself a favor and fill out the profile, including location. This way when you need something it'll be a little easier for us to gauge how to go about it.

....my Dad got me started about 50 years ago. I STILL have the p***ion burning! Everything I do auto related reminds me of the good times I had with him. Sorry for your loss. We all are here for a short time. It's how we are remembered that is important. Looking forward to having you share your adventure with us.........

Sorry to hear about your loss. Welcome to the HAMB. I am a new member too and this is a great bunch of people, as you already know. I too lost my dad nearly a year ago now and can understand some of what you are dealing with. I've found working on the car to be really helpful because this is what my dad and I were doing before he got sick. Hang in there, you got alot of support around you..BUILD THAT CAR. Welcome again. - Tim

Welcome fleetmaster. Maiki is right you just wait until you finish your hot rod and drive it for the first. Then you will know all that you put into it will be worth it and you will always have your dad up there somewhere looking out for you. Don't be afraid to talk to 'him' as you are building your car. He is still there in spirit. Good luck!
