The rental companies know where you've been. Its called GPS.

Another product that works pretty well, and I suspect is cheaper than Salt Away, is what I use. I have a pretty much unlimited supply of it from a spigot that sticks out of the side of our house.

Hell, that Salt Away stuff probably IS water, and somebody is making a killing on it by putting it in jugs and slapping a label on it.

It's a simple matter to disable the GPS. It's called a fuse.

Rental companies charge an extra fee when they find salt on the rental cars.
That's a fun photo to frame and hang on the wall.
Both times I have been to Bonneville I have seen guys who pretty well just did the drive out pose for photos and leave without checking out the racing or even walking though the pits. I'd think that one group of high notariety rodders that go every year spend more time looking for photo ops of their cars then they do paying attention to the racing.
On the other hand you haven't driven your car to Bonneville if you don't have a photo of it with that little mountain in the background. That makes it official

It is the right age for the look I was going for. Well, maybe couple of years too old. ;-)
