So I get up yesterday morning, go out front to head down to my new shop space (which is gonna kick ***!), and lo and behold, some useless punk-*** mother****er has tagged MY CAR!!!!!!!!!! Yes, my car. He wrote in paint pen on the drivers door, and the lower rear fender just behind the wheel. I was stunned. NO ****ING RESPECT!! Anyway, with some work it came off, but you can still see where I had to rub a little to get it off. It said the word "sounds" with a few little squiggly lines under it. Wow, that's deep. I have seen this tag around before, so if any of you A-towners just happen to know who this ****head is, please bring him to justice.

I guess it's not just a Detroit thing then......
Up here, they tag it, then if you're not out there cleaning it off ina few hours, they ***ume you're not home, or asleep, and jack your ride.

    It could have been worse.....

Uh tagging has just NOW gone too far? I don't think so, it went too far when it started. No respect for others property. Catch 'em, pound 'em.

  6. Did you take pictures?

If so print them off and take them to the cops. Most stations have a detective or a whole unit dedicated to tagging and gangs. They make a file on each ****bags artwork, and when they catch him, they present it all along with a large cleanup bill.
He may not pay it today, but if he survives long enough to grow up and want to buy a house, etc, it will get him then.
Not much help to you right now though...

Wax your car with a wax that contains Silicon. Paint won't stick worth a damn to it. I know that's not the point of your post, but if he's done it once and see's in clean, he may do it again.

That was going to be my suggestion. I know the police here keep a record of tags so that they can identify people.

My garage door gets tagged occ***ionally, but not nearly as often as some of my neighbors. I attribute this to the fact that I don't let anything stay for more than a few hours. I keep a can of paint just inside the garage and have been known to paint over a tag at 2am when I come home. At least that way, the perp doesn't get much satisfaction, or time to show his friends.

It makes me mad enough when my door gets hit. If someone tagged my car, I would be furious.

  11. It's not new or even just in urban areas. I went to Morrisville college in 1996-7 and one of the guys a year ahead of me had a Pinto he'd built. ****py car, but with an 88 T-bird turbo motor and drivetrain it was a real sleeper, it was painted nice.

So one of the inner-city dollar and a dream (and it's the taxpayer's dollar) grant kids up from Harlem or the Bronx, tagged it with some kind of black paint pen on the right rear of the roof.

Then again with all the kids in on grants thanks to affirmative action, it was like a little bit of Harlem in the countryside anyhow. More kids that would come up, party until they got kicked out, and go back home. Not that I can be too critical of them, the country hicks caused just as much trouble, and the glorified security guards were useless all around.

it's amazing just how many volts those little hand-held "stun guns" put out these days. they can temporarily immobilize even the biggest of fellas. take that time to "tag" his face and then call the cops.

  18. Catch the mofo in the act and tag the ******* with your own line! Like right above both black eyes! A big black permanent marker will do nicely....

So what do they do sign their "autograph" on your car? I have never heard of it around here. I would consider it the same as keying one of my cars though........

that's pretty much it. their "tag" is their signature, and the idea is to get as many in high visibility places as possible for braggin' rights.

  25. In Singapore, they have the wonderfully humanitarian option of public caning. Remember the Michael Faye case a few years back? Niiiice!

I used to be a graffiti artist. And used to be into murals, and exhibition tagging, but unbeknown to most there is a certain code of conduct. One such - cars and houses off limits. Graffiti used to be about reorganizing the urban visual scape. Substance, message, and aesthetics were important. But now its about ego. And as such manifests itself in ill-regarded fashions. I bet it was some boring suburban kid looking for some cred, like "Cool Disco Dan" (DC residents may know who I'm talking about).

You know, I bet half of these brats wirte their "tags" all over everything they have, in their rooms and such. If their parents weren't useless pieces of **** they would notice that the same **** Jr. has written on his wall is written all over town, then they would figure that Jr. is a vandal, and bust his tail, then turn him in...

If you catch him, I hope you take a bat to his hands and break those ****ers so he cant tag or do anything with them. That will teach his *** to mess with a mans car or property.

A .22 to the kneecaps would be a great way to handle it.
