I am a new guy to the group and thought it might be a good idea to introduce myself.

I grew up building street rods with my dad and so naturally I have more cars in my driveway than I can drive during the week. My wife complains sometimes, but I remind her of the amount of shoes she has lying on the floor of two closets... its kinda the same. Anyways...

I own a 1952 Mainline Tudor and have had it for two years now. It is in mostly stock form and I spent the first summer driving it a lot, but now I'm ready to do quite a bit of work to it. I just needed a shop to do it in, which I am about finished building. I have to add two garage doors and wire it and it'll be ready for work. Sure beats working outside.

Presently I am having difficulty (I live two hours from civilization) sourcing one headlight door and both taillight bezels. I plan on welding them in and painting them so I am not too worried about condition. I believe I remember seeing the taillight bezel repops in Dennis Carpenter but hate to buy those and weld them on and paint them. If you know of anybody please PM me.

Also I will be repowering it, the nearest car show is 95 miles away, and want a modern powerplant designed to drive long distances at higher speeds. With that being said, I will shortly be having a good running 215 and 3 speed that I'd like to see go to someone who can use them. If you are interested just PM me.

Sorry to write a book, I'm just excited to start hashing out body work and fabricating new motor mounts. BTW does this group have build threads for members' machines? Thanks and hope to hear from you.

As a new member you will notice the top line of this Forum is "Sticky FAQ" in that are tons of tips the members have contributed to,we only have ONE RULE concerning it NEVER ask questions there it is only an information file period. If you have any questions ask here in the regular forum. What are you considering swapping to under the hood? Easiest is the 302 aka 5.0 and AOD swap this kit makes it easy: http://www.butchscoolstuff.com/52-53-ford-car-15-sb-ford-engine-transmission-mount-kit-2501cpb/ And there are two brands of headers that can be used without alteration. WELCOME to the Group and enjoy the ride!

Thanks for the info. I've lurked here for quite a while so I have milked this forum for a lot of the engine swap info. I've got a 302 out of a 95 F150 for it, and I have sourced a C5. As far as I can tell the obstacle here is finding the right fly wheel, which I found on Summit. The current motor mounts in the car are going to need replaced, in fact I do not know what's really going on with them. For some reason I believe this was a flathead and someone put a 215 in it. The drag link hits the oil pan, the engine is angled toward the p***enger side, and someone used a 3/8 bolt to fill a gap in one of the mounts to weld it. Suffice to say, I will cut them out and buy a set from speedway, and fashion my own motor-side mounts. I will be buying his powersteering brackets for sure though.

Also, I had read somewhere that Mercury style frenching rings did not quite fit the Ford fender. I'll have to read that write up and see how that is done. That should make it a lot easier than sourcing a Ford one. And the Moon Eyes kit, the 59 Cadillac tail lights fit in?

They are OK on a 52-53 but not on a '54 because of the peak best fit is the 52-53 Ford stockers.
