I use Daylight Bulbs. Makes a world of difference.

 

Your right the Curly Fluorescent bulbs are being superseded by the LED...the curlys were a problem when they blew and warm up was slow.
Just 60 watt screw in equivalents in LED are very bright.

Somebody mentioned harmful rays from LED. The fluorescent's also emit harmful rays so pick your poison.

I think the sun emits harmful rays, as well. And so do incandescent bulbs.

That's the problem with life, it's so dangerous that it eventually kills everyone.

 

I bought mine at Costco. $25 a pop for a 4' -2 light fixture.
