So trying to start ford 200ci and somehow got a few oz of water down the carb.
Immediately i took carb off and hooked a vacuum hose down the intake
    Whats the flushing procedure?
Engine fired but didnt continue running.
Its been a week i just let it sit.
I checked oil dipstick and oil looks fine
    Thanks in advance

Water down the carb while the engine is running was an old backyard trick to clean the combustion chamber. I do it before I overhaul an engine saves time clean up the heads. Bones

It was water from my bong.

Real story is,engine fired, but there was a leak and the carb caught on fire by the base and my best idea a the time was to pour water on the side of the carb....but some water made it in...
Ill try to fire it today.

Depends on how much, we werent there

If you got enough in to partially fill a down cylinder, could have problems when you go to start it. Hydrolock the engine.

If ya wanna be safe, pull the plugs and spin it over. To blow it out.

yup, I pulled the plugs and turned it by hand with a breaker bar, it got the water out pretty quick.

Not knowing how much water and which cylinder it went into, I'd pull all the spark plugs, spin the engine over with the starter and then start the engine...it'll be fine.

How long is a piece of string? Depends. If you really want to be sure, dry the cylinder(s) out w/compressed air.
(And most times, quoted is okay.)

Funny how a little water can bend a con rod; or not so if it was your mill.

Is the 200 ci a Ford six? Super easy to pull the plugs on that.

Pull the plugs, spin the engine on the starter. If water comes out squirt a little oil in each cylinder with an oil can not too much, one or 2 squirts is plenty. Then spin again, put the plugs back in and fire her up. O ya look at the plugs, if they have water on them blow them dry.

This is in a 62 econoline.
So someone swapped the 200 into it.
    Carb is a yf.
Throttle linkage is missing and the carter yf has the enviromental choke and its missing the little tube from the exhaust manifold.

I was trying to convert the choke to manual and trying to rig the throttle with different brackets...
    I just gave up

Be easier to replace the tube. A piece of steel fuel line or brake line will work.

  25. Ahem.
I sure hope you grounded the coil wire or unplugged the ignition power before spinning the engine.
I watched a guy set his car on fire by letting the plug wires hang there and spark as the little specks of fuel were blown out the spark plug holes.
    Ouch.
That same warning goes for spraying carb cleaner or other flammable at a running engine. You are very close to setting off a fireball.
The old advice of spraying stuff at a running engine to find vac leaks not only doesn't work very well, it is hazardous more than most people realize.

    WHY BE ORDINARY ?

That six should fire up and run fine with no choke. Just adjust it to stay open.
Make sure you have good fuel pressure and the accelerator pump in the carb is working

    Hey thats really good advise..
I did unplug the 12v wire going to the coil the second time when i took the pmugs off..

But i didnt need help setting my engine on fire the first time,i did it all by myself ,it caught on fire at the base of the carb,im thinking fuel leak due to not tightening the carb to manifold and an open hole at the intake manifold..

You are kidding right? Just in case you aren't. The piece of tube lying on the exhaust manifold is supposed to be stuck in the hole in the exhaust manifold. It is supposed to be one continuous piece with the one sticking out of the round black choke housing. So, it is broken in 2 and maybe even a piece missing.

You need to put on a new one that is all in one piece.

In case you don't get it... the carburetor ****s hot air off the exhaust. The hot air goes thru the tube. The hot air heats up a bimetallic spring inside the round black thing which opens the choke. The choke is closed when the engine is cold then slowly opens as the engine warms up. Very simple and trouble free automatic choke as long as the tube does not rot off.

Im not kidding, engine work is not my forte.
That piece that is coming out of the exhaust is not broken, its threaded into the manifold..
It seems like it takes a vacuum line to the copper line coming oit of the choke housing.
    Thanks..
