Yes, I have had many meals at the Hotel Laguna when I was growing up. We had some wealthy sisters who were family friends who lived in the hotel for a couple of years. There is a lower level access to the beach. My mother and I had Mother's Day dinner there the year before she died.

Interesting custom as a promotional vehicle, but what is weird is the "Betty Elizabeth" brand name. "Betty" is traditionally a dimunitive of "Elizabeth". So effectively you have "Elizabeth Elizabeth".

    It's just me, isn't it.

I remember this pic from Street Rodder mag in the 70s. Obviously an older pic then, the caption read something like "A young Stan Betz works on a typical rod of the day. Short on looks and strong on motor. Note the hot setup in brakes - 39 juice binders."

    Purely from memory.

How come I can remember stuff like that, but not what I had for tea?

No chain on the bike? Great shot, none the less. Those young men were very brave. Coming off on those wood boards must have been very painful.

They usually got a lot of oily wood slivers and died of infection in those days.

Sure looks to be the Syndicate Scuderia Willys. And me thinks Arlington Dragstrip with those yonder hills. Hope everybody had a good weekend.
