Guess you found out these guys don't care for Mopars. If they have the valves and springs in them and they are not ported they could bring close to a grand if you find someone wanting to make a factory correct restoration.

Not sure where you are located but at a pure Mopar show they would draw a good size crowd.
A good site to check would be this one.

There is a cl***ified section where there might be a set for sale or you can ask on the forum.
I just went there and got a big red scary warning about it being hacked. I hit the X to clear that message...maybe someone who goes there more than I do can tell you more. I was on there a lot when I had my 1964 Dodge Polara 500.

the heads you have in the cl***ifieds are not max wedge heads. just plain ole run of the mill big block wedge heads. worth 50.00 to 100.00 dollars.

  9. a uncut head when measured on the exhaust side where the head bolt goes through will be 1 inch. so its easy to figure out a set has been decked. they are prone to cracking if decked too much. six bolt valve cover stage three will bring huge money if at 1 inch. the super stock guys need them. stage 1 or two a little less. they all came with adjustable rockers. if the originals are still there the cost keeps going up. a grand for a good set bare is a steal. they are easily identified by the huge intake ports; no heat cross over ports and 1.88 exhaust valves. i haven't seen whats for sale.

If I'm not mistaken from what I am seeing those are 516 casting, 64-67 , 361-383-413-426 and 300L , 78.5 cc chambers and 2.08 intake and 1.60 exh. Pretty common head good for a resto though. Lippy

No price quotes but the correct info on what real Stage III 1963 Max wedges are is here. https://racehemi.maxwedge.com/topics/heads.php
OBTW: Lippy and Racer X are two of the most knowledgeable performance guys we have on here. I just know how to do good Google searches.

  13. If they are 286 or 518 heads, 1200-1500 would be my guess. If they are if they are 209 heads, probably a little more. 209's are harder to find, but less cars came with them. With the influx of re-pop heads the price has come down a good bit. There are less and less of these cars that need date coded heads. And some of the re-pops are NHRA legal.

  14. I wouldnt take a set of small exhaust valve heads if they were free. They ****. The only reason to use them is for a restoration. Even then i would put 1.74 exhaust valves in them. The 67 closed chamber heads ****ed to. Theres a reason they only lasted a year.

1964 Stage III max wedge heads came with 2.08 intake/1.88 exhaust valves. If the heads are original 4 bolt valve cover heads, they can be worth $2500 to $3500. The true value is, as with most things automotive related, subjective. A pair of original MW heads, with 4 bolt valve cover could be worth top dollar to someone restoring a correct Max Wedge car. They won't be worth much to someone building a modern Mopar street beast. Most of the peeps building the latter are buying in to the abundance of aluminum aftermarket heads now available for Mopar BB fans.

"Max Wedge" iron heads were re-introduced by Mopar Performance years ago. The castings are very similar to the old 62/63/64 castings, but have the 6 bolt valve cover common to production B/RB motors. It is generally accepted that the original iron MW heads have an exhaust valve that is too large (1.88...which limits intake valve size) and Mopar Performance went to the more advantageous 2.18/1.81 layout on the "Max Wedge" repop heads. These heads are not worth anywhere near what a good set of original MW heads are.
