    Always liked that body style!

Those Fords from 60 to 64 always seemed to go down the road nice and straight..

Always wanted one in my youth as it was always one of my favorite body styles. There was a black hipo car that my dad nixed the sale on when I was still a teenager under his roof-he was a car guy and when he heard it he figured I would kill myself. Finally gave in to the temptation and bought this one with the white top a few years ago. Original car from down south that was really rust free. Bought it restored with the original 390 (rebuilt) with a C6-was the featured car on Powerblock back in 2013 I believe.

Also a few more pictures I saved of other examples.

  13. Love that roofline- and how I wish that Ford had used it on the "bullet birds"!!!

This roof is a little too long for my taste (would have matched the gl*** or rear chrome strip with the rear of the wheel opening), but you get the idea!

    Had a red '60 in 1968...no pics
Good car for the time. Swapped out the auto for a 3-sp. It just cruised on down the road.
Left it set unattended for 2 years (Uncle Sam came calling); then sold the engine out of it.
Went through all the trouble of transferring it into the other guys car......
just to find out the block was cracked. bummer.

Cool shots of your Dad!! That is a '60 Starliner, not a '61. Do you happen to know what engine was in it? Was it a 352-360? Thanks

Sorry, fat fingered it. Yes, it's a '60. I believe it was a 360 in it. I have the info at home. I will check later. Thanks.

Dad bought a new 60 Starliner. Sort of medium blue with white top. 352/auto. Bought a new 2dr Galaxie in 65 and asked me if I wanted him to keep the Starliner since I'd be getting my license in a couple years. Nah, I didn't want that ugly thing. He sold it for $500 in 1966. Funny how your tastes change over time. Looking back now, that stands out to me as one of the dumbest decisions I've ever made.

Not trying to drag this down as I think they are cool cars but that roofline always looks like it was lifted off the'56 Ford hardtops.

Here is my dad's 1960 Starliner 352 360 hp. He bought it brand new and still owns it. This is the car that I grew up in. The folks are my mom and dad. I think the first pic is my mom's prom. And that is my mom holding a drag racing trophy.

Hey @Troublemaker427 , I completely forgot to come back to this thread and update the info on my Dad's Starliner. He bought it brand new in '61, as it was the last 2 door hardtop '60 left on the lot after the '61s had already come out. It had the 352 V-8, 235 horse engine with a single 2 bbl carb, 3 speed automatic, and 2:91 gears in the rear. He took it to Mel Larson's Drag Strip, just outside Phoenix and set the cl*** record in B/stock automatic with a top speed of 97 MPH. But his et for the run was 18.70 seconds! :)
