I need to cut 2.5 inches out of a new '34 Ford windshield frame.
I have seen where people just take the material out of the frame where the joint is.
The frame sides are tapered so the bottom rail will be about 1/2 inch short when put back together.
What is the best way to handle this.
Heating each side and moving it in 1/4 inch ?
    Thank you.

I cut mine 3". Cut at the bottom miter joint. It will fit together just need to push sides in by hand until the bottom slides into the vertical frame

    Roadster or what?
Over the years I've seen too many messed up windshields, blend smooth. But mostly messed up from too much chop. Seems some just don't check if driving the car is going to be OK,but think, well if it looks good its fine{Not many times. EZ check=Tape flat cardboard box a long the top of windshield, with you seated in car, lower box down to were your thinking and tape, test drive an go to at lest one stop light also. May save you from making your car a bad driver.

Many eons ago when we did a five-window we heated the top corners a little and pushed them in to meet the bottom rail. I wouldn't try to ***emble it with the gl*** without the two frame pieces fitting together easily.
