Here's another[/quote] Winfield! Say, Bluto, that old sign has chips in it, and I don't want you to have inferior stuff. So....why don't ya sell that old beat up Winfield sign to me? I have 50 or 60 signs, I guess. I used to have lots more, wish I had a few back. Dealer signs are Ford from the '20s, two kinds, Olds, Chevy from the '20's, seems like a Maxwell or something like that. Also some oil co. signs of one kind or another. Bluto--you have a cool toy box!
Some of my poster collection. The race posters are re-pops from the early 70's The soap box derby is orig.1965
I actually have a YELLOW stop sign. Never seen one before anywhere and it isn't one someone repainted. Had lots of guys try to buy it, but it came from my late father in laws garage so it is staying.
Oh,yeah,I forgot. I also have one of the original oval Ford Sales and Servie signs my dad bought in '61 when he got his Model T. Too nice to hang in the shop.
I don't have photos.. but I have the GG show special "burnout area" (looks kinda like this) I also have this (which isn't a road sign, but its still funny) I really need to find the dip sign Bob K has.... its perfect for him and perfect for me!
Here are some of mine. I got the 25mph sign when the town changed the speed limit on my road to a whopping 30mph!!!! The stop and flying horse signs were prototypes I made at work.
I have a few, a big SPEED LIMIT 60, INTERSTATE 5, STOP, DO NOT ENTER, BUMP, FALLOUT SHELTER, HIGH VOLTAGE KEEP AWAY and misc. but my favorite, and I'd like to find one in nice shape is my Perfect Circle Doctor of Motors sign
I've had this one for years, it used to be over my aquarium, now it's on my garage door. You just can't make up stuff that funny.

not really a road sign, but this used to hang on the outer wall of the bottom of the hill bar in SF...they used to have hot dogs and hot rods with bands and stuff...until someone took out a fence and the car show was done (at least thats the way I heard it) The sign is actually pretty big...about 4 ft high by about 8 1/2 ft long...I used to hang it at my shop...now its in my sons room....oh yea...it was painted by the great Bruce Gossett in one night!
I've got a Neighborhood Watch sign. Walked for about four blocks with the sign AND the post over my shoulder. Guess no one was watching that night.
Just some background info you might find interesting..... The Firestone sign was hanging a few blocks from my Grandma's house. Hung on the building for 50-60 years - guy's dad origionally bought it - the son took over the business his dad started in the 40's (I think). The son was RETIRING - that's why he sold the sign. I remember the sign "lit up" when I was a little kid. The neighborhood took a turn and the son got tired of constantly replacing the neon from the neighborhood kids always breaking it - so it hadn't worked in years when I got it. First thing I did was to get it functional - went so far as to make the ARROW portion FLICKER. Like everything it's a sickness of sorts, but it looks REALLY cool blinking like that. I enlisted the help of a electrical guru to make a circuit that makes it flash irregularily - to make it appear like it has an authentic flicker.
There is a town on the Hume Highway in Oz called Y***. There is a McDonalds sign for it as you head south from Sydney, as you read it it says this in 10 foot high letters (Imagine the M as the golden arches) M Y*** open 6am Doc.
They put this one up in front of my house... I guess they figured I was retarded so I couldn't read it...
