I'm working on a '32 three window. All Brookville. When you stand behind the car, the rear fenders don't look straight. They lean down toward the inside. I have seen this on other Brookville's as well. What are people doing to fix this?
When bolted up tight , grab the bottom of fender and twist into position, Have done this on many. They get outta shape in shipping I'm guessin.
I did give it a twist. Helped it some. But that made the side pooch out. The fender looks to be under a lot of tension when it's bolted down. It almost looks like the entire "rear" of the fender needs to swing in, and the inside needs to come up. To make it level across the back, and flush looking down the side.
Reproduction parts require a lot of patience...and an air file to slot all of the holes. It took me months to fit my inner fenders to the grille and cowl on my car. A lot of cutting, welding, throwing them away, buying better ones and modifying the new ones to fit. I have never unboxed a repop part and had it fit without manipulation.
Working with the new metal is nice, but it does have its drawbacks. The new fenders require a lot of fitting, I always say they are a starting point. Good luck, you will get them to fit.
