Been looking for a while for a hemi for my 41 Plymouth. Been hard to find one within driving distance and within my budget. This one popped up on craigslist and says its a Chrysler. The code, if its the right one, looks like S2I, maybe s21 which would make it a desoto, but it looks like an I to me. Any thoughts on what this might be or where else i should have him take pictures of the engine codes?
I believe that’s a 1955 291 Desoto... Check the casting number on the side of the block, if it’s 1558929 then you may be headed down the path of buying a hemi...?
