16 my favorite (57 Plymouth) but it's also one of the least-changed cars from stock so I feel like I copped out a bit.
Damn, some stiff competition. I narrowed it down to #16 Terry Holloway's Plymouth and #23 Don Tognotti's T-Bird I ended up flipping a coin and went with Don's Bird.
I voted for the Predicta, because it's one of my all time favorite customs from one of my all time favorite custom builders. Starbird really drove that crazy thing! And it had a Hemi. In all honesty I tend to prefer mild customs myself but I have to give my vote to someone that did a ton of work and made a successful, unique custom. jinx, mark
I am 90% sure this Vette was parked in an apartment complex in Fremont in the 80's, painted orange with a straight axle. wonder where it went after that?
Now, the question was 'What won the Custom of the Year' Not what I wanted to win So I chose #11 the Watson styled T-Bird because of the heavy influence of Watson back then,,,, I think.
Don Fletchers fiftyseven is in my opinion an icon of the space age of the late fifties. Just my pick of who could be a winner.
Something about a 58 Impala chopped top convertible. I voted #14 but #5 and #26 are cool too! Hell they all are cool! Joe
I gotta go with #24 Anthony Abato's 54 Olds. Simple, straight forward yet still radical. No gaudy paint, but interior is polka dot. Love the DeSoto front bumper. Like many customs it was restyled without the DeSoto bumper, painted a lighter color and added some ugly reverse fins over the headlights.
Man, it was tough to vote - a lot of good choices. I tended to stick to the generally milder customs and boiled it down to #1, 4, 9, 20, 25, and 30. After a lot of scrolling back in forth I got it down to #1 and #25. After some more deliberation I ended up voting for #25.
