Probably missed it doing a search, but model a roadster with drums, what's a good non-power double master cylinder that takes 3/16" brake line fittings and has residual valves in it. Two bolt flange. Something off the shelf at the local parts store. 7/8 bore, maybe 1" bore. Hemi engine, '40 brakes in front modified to self energizing, and maverick drums in the rear. Thanks.
Late 60s to late 70s Ford F100/150 or late 60s Mustang....with manual drums should be fine. Sent from my SM-G950U using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Thanks, not wilwood, just the common mustang/Camaro/corvette etc. items. Need to know for sure whatever unit I use has residual valves. The FLAPS guys don't seem to know.
You will probally need a proportioning valve because of the lockeed and bendix style mix of brakes to keep the rears from locking up.
That's a given. Just need to get the proper master first. Any for sure suggestions? Do the 60/70s f100/mustang have residual valves?
Where is the master going? On the firewall I wouldn't use anything else. I'd go with a Mustang or Fairlane drum-drum master. I have discs on my Ford, piped in a proportioning valve, but never had to adjust it. I always pick a master that matches the weight of the car its going into.
Don't know how to link it bu look up this thread ***le. (Brake residual valves-mystery and myths...and facts) I hope this helps
On my sedan, with F250 front and 48 Ford rear, I used AMC dual drum/drum m/cyl. Same as Mustang, Fairlane, etc., but ports are on opposite side, point toward frame rail. Still used RP valve but m/cyl has them. You will need to find correct inverted flare nuts for 3/16 lines. I used 1/4" line.
