Just bought a chopped '50 Plymouth woot woot!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by BadLuckBetty13, May 5, 2006.

  1. My boyfriend and I just picked up this custom '50 Plymouth in San Jose. We are both really excited to get started on it. We plan on dropping in a new engine and tranny. We would like to put some air bags on it, rebuild the front/rearends, and all that good stuff. It's going to be one hell of a project and I am glad I have all you guys to ask advice from. Check it out! It has widened rear fenders, suicide doors, frenched head lights, chopped roof 4"+, peaked hood w/ 3D skull emblem. Also if you look really close it has a red devil tail for a shifter, red devils with blue dot eyes for tail lights!

  8. I'll try to take one tonight. It is still with the previous owner as the clutch is a turd and I could not get it out of 1st gear. We are going to attempt YET AGAIN (hehe) to get it home tonight.

  9. thank ya :)

  10. So if you don't mind me asking why do you have a pic of Em, Lauren w/ Sparky on your profile? Just curious...

  11. Thanks :) We are glad to have it! Its always nice knowing where a car comes from and who did all the work on it ya know?

Congrats on the score!! Looks like a clean ride!

  15. Off the top of my head I know we need a clutch pedal ASAP! If you have seats that would be good. umm.... the trunk latch.... window cranks, hell interior in general. I'll think up more shit.

That's pretty neat. The chop really transforms the car. Your car really has character.

I'd be tempted to clean up the lines by removing the bumper guards. I'd also run a very quiet exhaust system, so you can use it to sneak up on people and really scare them.

  19. very cool! nice score.. welcome to the 49-54 family :D

  20. Yeah that would look pretty good w/o the gaurds. I want to run some lake pipes but I have a feeling Josh will want duel pipes out the back so he rig flame throwers. He LOVES loud pipes so I doubt we will install anything but LOUD mufflers. I do like the idea of scaring people hehe

  21. Thanks... it's a whole new world for us since we both have mid-late 60s cars (65 Dodge Dart GT and a 68 Mustang). Manual on the wheel is ODD let me tell you. HAHA I'm still not sure if it was the clutch or me as to why it would not come out of first. Gabe assured me it was the clutch but I don't know.

  22. i too saw this ride on craigslist.it was on there for a long time and was wondering why no one snatched it up.the guy who owned it was trying to sell the flat 6 out of it for a while, then listed the whole car.if your interested in getting rid of that motor in the future, let me know.cool car, glad to see its staying around here.

  23. that thing is a tubby looking ride.

    it rocks.

Was it a business coupe slant back?

Those are awesome cars, and hard to find.

Nice score, keep us updated on your progress.

    cheers

do not wanna step on anyones toes /being an party crasher here but
the rear window opening seems a little wierd?, almost looks like the angle the roof is in the window will not float with the lines on the roof going down through the decklid

  28. Yeah I think we are going to get either a 289 (ford) or a 273 (dodge) motor depending on what will fit. They are both small block V8s. I'll let you know once we get it out of there.

  29. He said it was a regular coupe but I don't know...that back is HUGE haha. My ex use to have a 52 PLymouth Buisness Coupe and they sure look similar in the rear.

  30. Thanks :) The old man and I are both suckers for shoeboxes but when we saw this old plymouth it was all over. ;) I am a MOPAR girl and Josh loves his Fords so I guess I won.haha
