Hello everyone! Been lurking around these forums for years but finally saying hello to you fellow oddballs. I’ve been a mechanic and bodyman for 20 years and have always enjoyed working on carburetor era cars, buying and selling quite a few myself. It’s coming up on my 40th birthday and I have a line on a mid-life crisis present for myself, a 1959 Edsel Villager 9 p***enger wagon. It’s been sitting indoors since the early 80s. 332, 2 speed, 3.10 gear. Engine turns freely by hand. Everything appears to be there drivetrain wise. Body is very straight with no rot on outer panels, rockers damaged below both front doors, dent in drivers front door, front seam of p***enger front door pushed in enough it’s getting caught on the fender not allowing the door to open, rear floor pans are a tad soft but fronts and far back floors are rock solid. Frame appears solid front to back. All gl*** and chrome intact and in good shape. Interior isn’t so good though, headliner gone but rods still there, no back seat but fold up 3rd row still there, front seat in surprisingly good shape. Door panels trashed, no carpet but dash in relatively good shape. He’s asking $2000 dropped off in my driveway. I know the 9 p***enger Edsels are pretty rare but not sure with the shape of the interior if it’s worth the price. I’m a ****er for late 50s/early 60s Ford and Mopar wagons and just looking for something to bring back to life and have a fun weekend/ratty cruiser. Any opinions are greatly appreciated! Thanks!!

Did you get the Edsel? I had a 59 Wagon - GREAT car - everyone loved it. Best encounter was pulling in to the local brake shop and a young kid (18 or so) working there said "Wow - 59 Edsel Villager!" I was astonished. "My grandpa has one." Post some more!
