I have done a ton or searching and am not coming up with any pics of 60's style 33-34 roadsters. Where are all the chromed, flake painted street and show cars? Lots of coupes and flatty powered wire wheeled 50's cars but that is it. Looking for some inspiration here guys!
Here's one with a '60s vibe. The Kid was sort of '60s Not a real show rod but I like it This one is '60s-esc Now I do not have a pic but around here the popular thing for a model 40 believe it or not was to use a deuce grill shell. NOTE: This is just to prime the pump most are probably not what anyone is looking for.
The Pete n Jakes stuff was actually built in the late '60s or early '70s but they were both inspired by early '60s cars. I am scrolling though Oakland roadster show pics now, '60s stuff was pretty much coupes and Ts. I think that the model 40 roadsters may have been more popular with the LSR crowd then the show crowd.
The fella that owns this is a veteran Hamber and he has the most awesome Hotrod circa what you may be thinking. A side profile shot is his Avatar...Can't think of his name... Hopefully he will chime in and share more...
I love that genre, it is the time I remember most going to the Portland Roadster Show and formulating childhood dreams of building one some day. My hope is to one day show mine with color wheel lights, tons of mirrors underneath and that fibergl*** angel hair stuff. No flake paint but its got chrome to **** and back. Probably not what you are looking for but all I have to offer...at least its not a coupe!
Thanks @AngleDrive I posted that shot above...That is your ride correct? Thats an awesome Hotrod you have there. I will never tire of seeing it...
Neither do I. I am slowly finishing my Hobby Members cars so I can get back to the build. Also throwing together a 41 Ford truck with a 4-71 283. I will be 72 in August so I need to prioritize. This is the current state. When I get back to it I will post the build.
Here are Kustomrama links to '33 and '34 Fords. There are only a handful of Model 40 roadsters in the style you're looking for. And yes I'm aware I posted two pictures of cabriolets. https://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=1933_Ford https://www.kustomrama.com/index.php?***le=1934_Ford
So @AngleDrive did your Roadster remain as the 1960 picture till you dis***embled to rebuild or did you change the look say in 1964/5. If you did and heck even if you didn't could you share a few more pics with us all. After all we love pics and stories and @dumprat is looking for some ideas and inspiration. By the way glad your still enjoying and experiencing this great thing called Hotrodding
Stogy, I did not own this car. It was a High school friend of my Brother. Car was sold in 1960 and never resurfaced. I have an exact duplicate with the exception of the plywood floors and a couple of minor changes. When I start my build thread I will tell the whole story. Even though I am retired, I have a 7000 square foot Hobby shop in an old Cadillac dealership. My Hobby members and me have a lot of fun.

I like the comp coupe and the show rod roadsters! The stuff with flathead fords in it doesn't say 60's, to me anyway. The kustomrama cars are all 50's builds from what I read. I guess 33-34's were not cool then. I would like to see a roadster with a Watson paint job, mag wheels and a really shiny OHV engine.
