Unrelated to anything I am planning, but how does one cut the windshield and rear windows to match the chopped top?

The windshields can be cut, very carefully. There are several ways to do it. Traditionally with a standard gl*** cutter, then lighter fluid to burn off the middle membrane of the laminated gl***. The rear gl*** can't be cut, because it is tempered gl***. With the rear window you have 3 options; lay the gl*** down forward to achieve the lowered look, lower the gl*** into a channel below the trunk line - similar to how some cars windshield wipers rest below the hood, or use plexigl***. Note that I am not an expert, this is the info I found out when researching the chop on my '54.

Have a friend who bought a chopped 57 sedan delivery. Windshield was cracked, but came with new one to have cut. After the third cracked windshield, he sold it with a new replaceacement. All three were cut by different gl*** guys. The final cut was made to fit a pattern made from the opening, still cracked after a couple of hundred miles.

Cut the gl*** first. You can make the metal fit the gl*** but you cant bend the gl*** to fit the metal.

Hmm...was the sedan delivery a 57 Chevy? I may know where it is now.
