65 7/12 now, seems like I didn't realize how old I was until a cancer diagnosis 2 months ago. They tell me that I'm probably good now after surgery, but I'll be a cancer patient the rest of my life.
No matter how old I am, I've never thought the clock was ticking as fast as it is until now.
Told my doc that I had no time for dying, too many projects to finish. Went back to work in 3 weeks, cause I'm self employed and get no sick days or vacation days.
I only learn the important things in life when they kick my ***.

  7. Yeah, that cancer thing snaps you into reality real quick.

  10. Hey Dan Pasadena,
Figure out the difference before you decide,
In my case waiting 'till 70, it would take
9 years to catch up! I didn't think it was worth the gamble!
I started at 65! Haven't regretted it yet!

  14. I started the day I was eligible. A guy I worked with decided to wait until 70. He never drew a dime and never will.

Will turn 73 Sunday. Just completed my retirement project, a 51 FordF1. Took 5 years and now I’m looking for a F100 for the next project!

63 last February. Still have the car that got me started 49 years ago- ‘34 Chev Standard two door. Still building, enjoying it. Working on a ‘57 Dodge Coronet g***er and started on Roadster project. So little time, so many cars!

Ok, read most of the 54 pages. Conclusion: there’s more life here on the “Mature” thread than I’ve seen anywhere....actually young at [emoji813]️ heart abounds here. We are fortunate to be able to pursue our hobby. So kept on truckin, as in IMG_0635.JPG IMG_0880.JPG IMG_3539.JPG IMG_0563.JPG IMG_0979.JPG IMG_0564.JPG I wish all my fellow H.A.M.B.ers all the best, live out your dreams, keep the Faith, and make everyday the best it can be....that’s from my [emoji173]️ Mercman@bulldog
