  1. My guess, photoshop is how it happens.

  2. I don't know the story but I don't think it is Photoshop'd.
Here it is caught from a different angle:

Thanx. That thing is wicked. With mile-deep black paint and front 12 spokes it would be beyond sinister.

  7. I remember the first time I seen it first hand. It was at the Bakersfield Reunion. It didn't get on the track that year but hearing it run in a Burger joint parking lot was off the shelf.
That's the real deal for sure. You have to be there to truly appreciate it. It's mad Krazzy and totally Nutz. Just the way I like em.

In the late 60's my dad put a Stage III 425hp 426 max wedge into this Austin Healey.

Solid mounted rear axle, slicks with 5# of pressure. Hard hit on the throttle and tires crinkle, then release, causing them to be lopsided, causing them to bounce (in lieu of a rear suspension "squatting" and releasing). Just speculation on my part.

  15. My guess is he pedaled it. It’s a hard tail, the only “spring” is in those slicks. I’m thinking it hit, for whatever reason he got out of it, unloaded the tires and hit again causing the bounce.

This thing is a bit of a monster and it was likely a skilled photographer with a quick shutter finger...just a great capture. Most photos need no manipulation they generate enough interest as is...my thoughts...

I agree but some don't. Every time I see this car I take more pictures. The owner is a super nice guy and hearing him tell what he did to build this car is fascinating. I hope to see it again at Torquefest 2018.

Agree about Hell's Messenger -- among my favorite cars on the HAMB. I would love to have this thing in my garage.

Ron Brown - Thanks for the kind words! That's my Olds. A friend said 'undead sled' awhile back, I can live with that title a little easier.

  26. That body has been heavily reworked and may be a combination of multiple bodies...
I just remember that's what it was entered as.

All the "Corner Carvers" would agree that they got the look just right on this one!
