Anyone out there have any knowledge about swapping tranys. I've got a 1950 buick with a "Dynaslow". I found a place that has adapters for the straight eight engine. The problem is that the Buicks have torque tubes. Does this mean that I will also have to change the rearend?
    Thanks, Gobo

Yes, you have to change the rear end. Here's the best way to accomplish it- Thanks once again to Glen!

Check out the "Rear Axle Install" on his '48. All the info is there.

There are several of us building early Buicks, and I think we're all doing it the same way- no better path has been figured out.

I'm also doing a '50 Super Sedanette and keeping the S-8. Welcome to the dysfunctional family of late '40s/early '50s Buick builders.

    Buicks are the new Mercs...

SCOTCH, thanks for the info.So it looks like a Trans Am rear end will fit up pretty well. Did you fit it onto a TH350 or 400 ******? I just installed new rear coils and it looks like with your recomended setup I can still use them.I'm not quite sure what a torque arm is...forgive my stupidity. By the way your Buick is awsome, great stance, nice color.
