Well there's no way the rest of my build is gonna turn out that nice, the front bones will stick out like a sore thumb so they will be put up 4 sale!
Just kidding Harv, can't thank you enough, one of the HAMB's good guy's to deal with!

Instead of selling I guess I could just run fender's and hide the front bones!

I scored this dropped V8 60 axle and pair of 32-34 bones, the clevis end had some material removed off the top and bottom so they would work on the 2 1/4 axle width. I have no idea if they were 32 or 33-34 as they were shortened. I plan to add length back but don't know if I should make them 32 or 33-34 length. Also I could add a yoke and return them to stock form. Also should I leave the clevises as they are, or swap them out with some stock ones from my stash? What says you...?

    Pics next.

I don't know way they welded something in the end off set from center line.
It it was me I would cut as little off the end as possible and weld in something that you know was done 100% right

And after, some pitting remains on the mounting surface axle/bones, it will fill with copper when chromed...original parts are the best, save all you/we can. :) 18945288_1415581405155144_819942996_n.jpg 18870857_1415581718488446_1647168278_n.jpg 18944558_1415582178488400_1877250941_n.jpg 18945244_1415581948488423_2048972959_n.jpg

Harv, Thanks for the outstanding tech. I had just picked up a set of 40 ford split bones at a swap meet that looked like they could be cleaned up. I wanted to drill and fill them for that clean look. I went on line and your article came up. Great info on the pipe sizes also. It's guy's like you on the HAMB and other hot rodders out there that help guy's like me step out there and give stuff a try.
    Thanks again, Steve
