Chopped 50 Merc windshield question.

I am getting ready to put the windshield in my chopped 50 Merc.I have a new stock w/s seal that I will have to cut down to fit.I will be keeping the stainless trim and center divider bar.My question is what tips or tricks would you recommend to make this job easy?? Thanks,Kevin.

I didnt use a stock gasket on mine, but didnt use a divider bar either. Just made some templates, made the gl***, used "s****s" and curse words to get em in...think alittle dishsoap around edges (like stubborn front/rear 1 piece installation) and just ran some silicone neatly between 2 front panels. not a leak and it was my daily for quite some time. i used that silver rope stuff that sticks into the gasket instead of stock stainless.
