I am so Amazed at the "Los Boulevardos" site! To see it begin on the HAMB and take root so fast is Cool! Now, would Billy F. Gibbons be considered a "gold chainer"? I know, a little O/T, but doesn't his "Slampala" fit the bill on the lowriders being talked about? Wonder if He lurks?

  3. my buddys got a 47 merc with a beautiful chop, solid as hell, nice 3x2 set up, flat black, looks as traditional as hell etc etc. but then you look lower and its got wires and a 4 pump hydrolic set up. i must admit its wicked to watch that thing drive on 3 wheels and all that. but man its almost like watching a car go to the crushers. different views on style and whats cool of course but common! its in pieces now though. and i gave him a new frame for it with the hopes that now he'll listen to my ideas of losing the wires and changing it to bags! if i could find the pics id post one. its an awsome truck he just needs to lose the tini wires and all that lolo jazz!

Well said and thanks for the link. I've got several friends that have low riders or are building them. Car people are car people it's great to share stories with all of them. I've always had a secret love for low riders. this post is a chance to come out on that topic! I always have my ear down for a 63 Chevy - I'd build it lowrider style.

  7. I took my sons '68 Impala to a show Friday night in SantaFeSprings,Ca.,and it turned out to be a Lowrider show.I felt so out of place,'cause it was all cholos. Now i'm not prejudice,i'm half Mexican, but the spoked-up,hoppin,chrome everything crowed doesn't appeal to me!I love the Bellflower style customs,Rivieras, early Impalas,Cads,Bonavilles,etc..Theres a place for everyone who love specific styles. My son hates it when the spoiled,beamer-drivin,rich kids at his school call his Impala a "beaner car".They just don't know.He can't wait to take it to the Back to the Beach show.

I was installing hydraulics in cars before I could drive. Helped a friend redo the juice in his candy orange 65 Impala it won best hydraulics at the big Cinco de Mayo car show here "not bad for some white kids who's parents paid for everything" that phrase is exactly why I don't have a lowrider anymore.

    Cars not culture.

Whites are accepted fine around here. At least from my experience.

I went to High School in San Jose(YB) in the mid 70's, the lowrider scene was incredible, tons of great cars, and when the new 76 Caprices came out it's like they were supposed to be Lowriders.
