There are Traditional Customs not just Hotrods here too and low and behold if no one emphasized or told you back in the day they may have had those under there instead of the much more common frame and spring mods.

They have been given an amber green light as inspired as eluded to and that clears it up for me.

The feature you are describing would have more likely common sense wise fit under a full fendered vehicle such as a custom. Todays trends here see them used mostly and thankfully under customs

  3. OK, let's see if I've got this straight.... There seems to be two issues here. One, the 'traditionalists' are offended that what they consider as 'non traditional' stuff ends up in the 'traditional' forums. This seems easily addressed, the mods move the thread to the general forum, or edit/ask the PO to edit their post.

Two, and this is the thornier issue, defining 'traditional' as 'commonly used'. So we have at least one documented use of bags in the traditional era but one isn't enough for some. So what number does make something traditional? Given that during this era thousands of Hot Rods and Customs were built, driven, wrecked, repaired, and reworked, I would think it needs to be a rather large number. 1% seems like a small number, would 5% be better? Higher? The term is thrown around a lot, but no one has quantified it and from where I'm sitting until it is it's just opinion....

Spend more time in the garage doing your own thing and less time trying to make someone on a screen happy.

Only the ones lucky enough to get a magazine feature count as original rods and kustoms.

Only the ones that repeated what was done on the ones featured in magazines are traditional.

The rest simply do not exist.;)

Freeze the clock at 1965, and build your car like everyone else in the magazines did. That's how you keep the traditionalists happy.

  8. Go for it. Just don't get too specific on the details.

  9. Here's my traditional hot rod. FE engine, check. 1960 running gear, check. All Ford, check. Raised front end for gasser look, check. Chrome smoothies, check. Should feel right at home amidst a herd of '32 roadsters.

I’m not too worried about the people that don’t get this thing of ours.... this thing some of us have so much passion for... I’m more worried about the people that do. Those are the people are work for.

In any case, I’ll adress this all as soon as possible. Promise.
