Got 68 years worth of oils, grease and dirt build up under my 50 chev deluxe. Outside of hammer and chisel, is there a decent way to get most of this off?
If are trying to remove the old factory applied under coating you're going to have to scape, and in some places chisel that stuff off, I don't think it was meant to be removed. That was the worst part of doing my 50'
Coin op pressure washer, so you don't have to clean up the driveway when your done. Bring your floor jack and jack stands.
^^^ what he said ^^^ I use a large Exacto handle with a flat (shovel) blade mostly, or a sharpened stiff putty knife. Try scraping it cold, then try it heated, sometime it just pops right off cold. It's no fun but I just do an area at a time, take a break then do another. After it's all scraped, wipe it with pre-paint wax and grease remover or lacquer thinner and it should be nice.
