It is a tradition of some sort to fire up any engine (or engines) on that particular day, at least since volga ;)

    Some promised updated.

After events from last post, since I had only basic tools, I've started to chop the rear window frame into short pices to match the overall shape of C pillars.
And cutted of parts that was strongly out of their original shape- at this point I understood that previous owner had a traffic accident and the car was hitten in the left side.

As earlier I took parts from the black donor car.

Here I have to stop- I had some several bad attemps with working with B pillars. That’s why my thought was to think every thing over and make some plans.
Best thing I could think of was to (as You can see from the picture above) cut out all the left B pillar, use black scraps and redo everything there, but that will be in another post.

To star fresh I’ve cleaned all up and dismanteled rest of equipment on body.

As You can see- I also started tu cut out the base of A pillar (supporting it with external frame of course ;) ), so, after demolition derby, the firt order of business was to remake all those body to frame mounts.

Bonus picture- I know I'm not even mediocrate in body work but twin floor is always my favorite :) IMG_20170826_173138.jpg

And the winter came- but, as we all know, real men don't care about the weather.
    IMG_20171120_090021.jpg

but work has to be done- so we used, with m.kozlowski, the front end to make garage little prittier ;)

First I've leveled the body and the roof to make a stronger cage to support all the loss in body (don't ask why I didn't do it earlyer... Ireally think that this thread is the real one how NOT to build a custom :D)
    IMG_20171209_152544.jpg
Also, my eagernesswould let me do all in right order and I've started to mount the choped door
    IMG_20171216_124943.jpg
And started to fit the B pillar welding it inplace to door
    IMG_20171216_131655.jpg
When I was able to reestablish the new position of B pillar I had some good idea-why, the hell, I didn't build a proper cage to hold the roof in place. So I did

And started to strip that B pillar connection to weld the inner parts of it
    IMG_20171216_133558.jpg
As You can see I have a very different aproach to my chop, that why I have to move those upper B pillars and weld it in their new place

And some finishing welds with the skin
    IMG_20171223_174010.jpg
So, if the top is in place, I should do the bottom as well- so I came with something like that
    IMG_20171230_165827.jpg

But I had some seriouse doubts about upper A pillar and front door pillar fitting (odd thing was that it came from that very same body....) so I went back to my black stash :D
    IMG_20180210_163307.jpg
And there was much rejoice :)

    Hey Trefl,
Do you have any information on your full flow conversion. I have the same 6 in my car.
Any pictures on what modifications you did. I saw a couple of pictures of a block off plate for the old oil filter.

I can send You more pics on saturday, but there is no problem to do such kit for You. But befor that I have to be sure about the oil presure, so I have to plug in an oil gauge first to be sure of this contraption :)

    Ok, time for more update.
My friend has some more skills in metal shaping and had made me those great rocker panels, so I couldn't resist myself and I had to put it on
    IMG_20180210_163331.jpg
to do it right Ihad to hangthose rear doors
    IMG_20180217_131251.jpg
and because of that crash and repairs (it had smashed doors and B, C pillars-maybe thats why those red doors wouldn't fit properly) I had to cut the portion of back panel

So the time came to move the car from garage for a bit of time, thats why I had to double my effort, specially that in that stage I would warp in the rear wheel arch section. Thats why I choped more :p

    IMG_20180321_194735.jpg

And the then came those outer panels:

I've almost forgot- if You can recall,I had that pritty weld maze below C pillar.
    IMG_20180303_130536.jpg
With english wheel (this was my first panel, wheel arch was second to use english wheel) I've made a patch for that place. Thats maybe nothing, but I a bit proud of it :)

I had to use all of my borrow tools, so I've made my own inner rocker panels:
    -I've started with plane steel
    IMG_20180316_184904.jpg
-made first move with that tool (I don't remember how it's called in english :) ) and made 90 degree turn (with some hammer help of course :) ):
    IMG_20180316_192105.jpg
-than there was time for some nice wave and holes for welds (same holes made in upper part of rocker to weld all up):

That was driver side but I had to do also rear left pasanger side (as You cansee I've cut out some portion of that panel to make a filler between B pillars frame mount and the external rocker) :
    IMG_20180317_192547.jpg
I'vemade those welding holes of cours and weld all together:

Some weld later, as I sad earlier, I had to move mycar out for a bit (I went on vacation to think about my next moves). Ford looked like that:
    IMG_20180321_221204.jpg
    IMG_20180322_174453.jpg
As You can see it hade a big gap in front of rear wheel arch, but I wasn't worried to move this for now rolling shell :)

Car went back to garage so I could start those finishing touches. First was to make a better joint between rocker panel and wheel arch
    IMG_20180407_142351.jpg
It's still not too good but its way better than it was. Than I've filled that gap in front of wheel arch
    IMG_20180407_142407.jpg
Next place that I'm a bit proud of :) at least thatsall I can do with my set of skills and tools
    IMG_20180407_164522.jpg
after that I've started to weld up the wheel arch. Boy- that's a tuff one...
    IMG_20180414_160559.jpg
Thats all for now. I've readed here, on HAMB, about some tools to prevent warping welded areas- so that will be my next step for now.

Bonus pic- now Ican move my little engine by myself (allmost :p)
