I was over helping Gary and Mikey and couldn't help but take some pictures. We put the motor and tranny in and put the body on man is this looking sweet. Here are some pics.
Nice lookin!!! How many inches is that chop, it looks about right. keep up the hard work and the posts.
Chop is 3 in the back and 3 1/2 in the front. The rake isn't really noticable. Sure would look nice with some wheels on it. Clark
We made some serious headway on Sunday. Junior and the guys came down and helped out a ton. Here are some more pics from the shop.
Keep up the great work man! That car is super clean and sure to turn some heads! There's just something about a quick change and an A spring that looks so right.
I like the tail lights, that's what I have planned for the 29. Does anyone have close up pics of the rear suspension? Thanks! Good work!
So what did you do to keep the rear wheels in the correct position relative to the wheelwells on the body?---Did you reposition the rear crossmember about 3 or 4" towards the rear from its stock position?
Man...thats the truth! The taper of the axle housings...the curves of the spring with the crossmember to match...the QC cover right in the place of honour... EVERYTHING looks absolutely perfect and every line and curve accents the curve next to it. Pure mechanical sensuality... Killer A guys!
That is one good looking A !!! I have a question where did you connect that rear spring on ? Do you have a detail picture of that ? thank you Ward
Brian: The frame is hand built so there isn't any kind of stock cross members or anything. If you go into the tech archive, I believe there is a post on building this frame. I would help you out more but Clark built the frame so he has all the answers. Thanks for the positive feedback from everyone.
Motor Mikey---Thanks---everybody and their damned dog wants to know how to run a spring behind axle setup like that, using a stock location rear crossmember on a model A chassis. I keep telling them that if ya do that, the axle ends up about 4" foreward of where the wheelwells are on the body. The only way to do it is move the crossmember back about 3 to 4", then they can run a spring behind axle setup and keep the wheels in the correct position relative to the body wheelwells.
Yeah, Mikey that is a nice rear end you got there! Oh, see you at Latimore. Nice car too. The Princess
Looks good Mikey. Glad you got it out of that hack shop it was in. Those guys are nothing but trouble. Spike
after reading my post again I realised I have to ask this different ... Where did you connect the rear spring on at the wheel side ? Is there something hanging from the back off the axle ? If you got a picture off that please show it . thanks Ward ,
