That's the "Meter Maid"... he marks the tire, comes back in an hour when the meter is expired... if the car with the chalk on the tire is still there he gets a ticket!

Jungle Park race track was forced to close around 1960 due to high injury and fatality rate. It was said to be the most dangerous track in the Mid-west, partly because of no safety equipment ( spectators often put out fires with beer and cooler water) and if you ran over the banked turns you usually hit a tree since it was surrounded by woods. All that's left today is weeds and full size trees growing on the barely visable track, a crumbling main grandstand some fence and the main gate and sign. In its hay day, there had been a hotel and restaurant on the grounds.

 

Not sure if it's a Chevsler or a Chryevy.

 

Gosh. they wore thongs even then...altho a little higher.....

Offys were well know to digest dirt and rocks but the car with the blower and what looks like a 2port and no protection is Nuts
