Any postings on this yet? https://www.msn.com/en-us/autos/cl*...ter-hidden-for-60-years/ar-AAwkMOZ?li=BBnb7Kz The "ultimate" barn find?
Dayuum...thats kool...thanks @bigboy308...as you dig into those pics you get highs and lows...I was even thinking of that Plymouth time capsule albiet it is not that bad but man it sure aint a dry state...or salty air infiltrated the room...idono...glad it was rescued.
I think this one has crossed the border from patina that is worth preserving to simply bad condition.
I agree, that poor car, I can't wait until the patina craze is over, It is just an excuse for laziness in my opinion...
I love original paint even when far from perfect. I don't understand preserving dirt and mold though.
Surfcity I totally agree with you on that. Next big thing will be preserving "field finds", yep that day is coming.
It's already been done. http://www.superchevy.com/features/1803-unbelievable-corvette-barn-find-not-1-but-2/
Odd how certain people seem to find most of the "barn find" cars. They must have a lot of networking to get word of these cars before anyone else does.
A**** other things, these people are "in the business". That means a lot of contacts, and (don't take this the wrong way) certain tax and other financial advantages that most people don't have.
I like to see them like this, it's the deference between a Bar find, and a Barn find. You get to see them without their Make UP.....
Saw the car a few months ago at the store. It's pretty ratty, but very cool and very fixable. I agree that the car had patina 30 years ago. It's gone beyond that and needs a redo, IMHO
I feel attacked! My '29 pickup was yard art out in front of a farm in Illinois for decades. I had to save it. It'll be driving this year.
Agreed. How could anyone intentionally want to leave a 32 Ford roadster in that condition? That isn't patina, thats some serious problems needing to be repaired. It can only get worse.
Those 2 dudes on TV who find stuff to sell show us a lot of cars stored in garage like "barns" all over the country. Seems none are for sale or are way over priced since the 80 year old owner who built these little towns on their property are still going to "fix it up someday". I'm OK with any of it as long as their kids sell or auction it off someday to guys who want it and not have it junked. It's hard to believe all those porcelain signs still exist, but my messily little 2 garage is packed with s**t too including 2 driving cars. The HAMB is a great place to see this and I hope it continues..
those blokes came to a local buddy's chicken barn collection... he had held out a really nice '32 car grill and insert to make an impression, the skinny one told my buddy to nervermind he had [5] '32 fords already ... don't ever feel sorry for those guys...
This was covered here on the HAMB when it was first drug out of the barn. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/early-hot-rod-sighting.934875/
