WOW!! What a weekend the Dirty's had. Our tripp started out Friday around noon out of Dallas, TX. We figured while on the way up we would stop at Don Flemings HotRod shop in Sherman, Tx. Man does he have some cool, nostagic stuff. Got some really cool cars he is building too, Anyway my pops was having some carb issues on his new tri-power set up so Don being the tri-power carb guru around here we figured what better place to work on a car then at his his shop. We were pressing for time to get to Dewey so we were in hurry. Change the carb top once, the center section about 4 times, jets ,twice and finally got the original set up that was on it working rite. I guess it may have gotten clogged some how.. Oh well we got it fixed. By this time it was 4 oclock so we hit the road. Rolled into Bartlesville around 10 at night and the Best Western was already kicking. Got all checked in a did the parking lot tour checking out all the cool hot rods and customs. Of co**** THEM Tulsa stole the show. It is so cool to see such a large group hang to gether like they do. Still trying to figure out where the rest of the ThEM texas were??? On to Saturday morning we woke to a fun filled day of rain. Slow steady and lot of it. With no tarp, rian jacket, and open hood made driving the roadster kindoff impossible Saturday. The rain stopped around three so we headed to Dewey to see what was goin on on the strip. Still a few cars there but most had already left or never showed. Very cool little town. We parked in the middle of the street and got some cool shot of the cars. Mick cam up and it just happened to be rite in front of the old Movie theatre that showed the Deweys Dirty's. Kinda cool I thought. Anyhow We headed back to town. Bought a tarp and rain suit and prepared for the worst. It pretty much stayed for the rest of the night with small amounts of drizzel. Staurday night rocked with smokey burnouts, flame throwers, and live bands. Not to mention Monkey kept the parking lot jaming with the Dirty Trucker music. Monkey you Rock. I quess we finally hit the sack around 1. Sunday rolled in, uncovered the cars, and headed to the strip at 10:00. Got all our stuff and got some cool parking spots. Lots of cool cars ,trucks ,and customs were already there. Downtown Dewey is a coll place with a 40-50's vibe going on. There was plenty to do, Antique shops, old malt shop, hot rod movied playing at the Tom Nix museum. Which by the way were very cool. the show had a very good turnout I thought for as much rain as Dewey area had gotten. It was nice to see some top end cars not scared to get alittle wet. The goody bads, the t-shirts, the mechanic shirts, the dash plaques were top nothc, I just cant say enough about Mick and the Stryacat Customs that put on such a cool show they have going and the hopsitality they give each and every person there. At the end of the show they Mick had the awards presentation. I is neet how he does it. If you get a award you pulle your car over in line with the other winners. Cruise across the downtown main street and he tells why your car was picked. It was too cool! Very neets awards too. After the awrds show we met up with 3wlarry to go check out the Coupe. We cruised the 20 mile trike back to his place in Ow***a, OK. We were not gonna be that close to him and not touch his car. Upon much anticipation ans we rolled the cover back off the coupe it was a instant hard for the Dirty's. THIS CAR IS AWESOME!!!!!. Larry has done good. This has got to be the Baddest, most beautiful 32 Ford I have ever seen. Larry has put alot off time, money and effort into this Coupe to make it a dream come true for him. There is not one thing on the car that he cant tell you exaclty what it is and beeing abuilder myself that means alot. When this car hits the pavement for good the magazines are gonna be all over it. And all the talk about it having a Chevy in it. It is a true Corvette 327 , fuelie heads that was a standard bore 11;1 compression motor 350 hp. That he detuned for the street to 9:1 with a muncie 4 speed behind it. Aint nothing not cool about that. I just cant say enough about Larry, He is a true standup, honest old hotrodder that this world need more off. To top it off larry gave me a set of Buick finned drums and my pops a old Fighter plane steering wheel. TOO COOL!! Thanks Larry. I was so glad we were able to stop by Larry place and hang out. It ****ed having to push the 32 back into its stall and hitting the road. We rolled into Denison, TX around 10:30 and met up with Hamber Jamie (Daddyo54) and checked out his progress on the Coupe he is building. Gonna be a cool Coupe with all the old parts he has been able to scroung up in the last year for it. Cant wait to see it rolling though. Finally got home around 2 and in bed this morning. Woke up late, got to work 4 hours late, but ole well it was well worth it. What a weekend. Got another 700+ miles on the roadster without any problems. In conclusion, I want to first say thanks to Mick and the Straycat Customs for putting on a great show and rolling out the red carpet for us. Second, the Them Tulsa boys for beeing so cool and let some texas boys come hang out with them alittle. They hang together like a club is supposed to do. Say thanks to 3WLarry for letting us fondle is beautifull 3 window Coupe, And then I want to say thanks to all the Hambers that we met up there and the ones that we got to hang out with again. I bet we met alteast 100 hambers that we can now put a face with a screan name. Thanks everyone for such a fun weekend, heres some pics
Rusty, did you get to meet Don's son, Aaron at his shop? He's the one that did the lettering on that Hudson truck. And DAMN those are some cool pics with Larry's deuce! The one with his car and your roadster is now my Desktop. Thanks for the pics man! I love living vicariously through the Dirtys.
Eric, Grow up. We come to Pistons & Paint and that's the one you all should be worried about. For the Dirty's, it was great to hang with you guys as well! Danielle (sp?) was a hoot! Tracy and I aren't really kid people but she is so damn cute. We really appreciate you guys and ThunderRocket and wife hauling it up here to support Mickey. You'll have to try again next year. Hopefully the weather will be better!
Definately gonna be a yearly event for the Dirty's from now on. Thanks Rashy for all the hospitality you gave the Dirty's I could see yall with alittle Danyelle but with dark hair.
By the way, That "Big Toot" Pick was given in honor and loving memory of "Lil Toot's" dad. He's always been "Papa Toot" to me and the younger bunch and was definitely a mentor to us younger guys and of course to our brother Toot himself. Lil Toot chose the Dirty2 because he said Papa Toot would have built a car just like that and he knew he would have enjoyed the hell out of it. Some might remember that Papa Toot p***ed last year as we were getting ready to leave for Pistons and Paint.
Dirty31---I like your style. This is a great post. If we lived about 2000 miles closer you seem like the kind of hot-rod kid that I'd like to know.---Brian
Me? Never! And couch potato my ****...had to work saturday anyway (every saturday). The Old's wouldn't have made the trip either, Austin killed my radiator. I gotta find a way to get more weekends off.
That's weird, Austin killed my radiator last year. I detect a pattern.... ****ty radiator shops in OK ands TX.
Man, I had a blast. Despite getting to Dewey late on Saturday it turned out to be a great weekend. Dirty's!!! You guys are awesome. I saw the cars in the parking lot and started asking Ben D and Atch where you guys were. Glad we finally got to lock hands. You're both are good people and your welcome to hang and run with us anytime. Thanks for the great times! And the little lady...miss tiny Danielle. AWESOME!! Between the Anglia comment, the too cool for school pink high top Hamiltons, the kickin ****erfly jeans and the two thumbs up through the chopped window, that girl is one cool kitten. Adorable! She can drive the monkey mobile anytime she wants! See you guys soon! monkey

Let me add my 2 cents here as well. It was great meeting you both, and of course the little lady. Tell her I have a damn fine lookin 7 year old grandson if she's into "older" guys. See you at the drags in August? GV
I really enjoyed meeting you guys, and the adorable little blond. Man! what are you going to do when she turns 13?
man rusty i wish we could have gone. it was good to see you, your dad and danyelle, the dirty midget, last night. glad you made it home safe. we will see you at the kustom kings show.
Hey Dirty's, it was nice to see yall roll in on Friday. Both of yer cars are built RIGHT! You guys are welcome in our parts ANYTIME. Thanx for the nice words about our group. It's funny, we actually like each other. I'm glad to see you guys got the "Big Toot" pick. I think it's fitting for you guys to receive the award. Papa "Big" Toot took "Lil" Toot everywhere in his sedan when he was growing up. It's fitting on all accounts. Little Dirty sure brings us hope for the next generation. I'm glad she has so much fun. Come back anytime. Take care, Reverend Jake
