    Hey Guys,
I just picked up these cool Edmunds valve covers for the Hemi that's going in my 32. They're dirty from sitting on the sellers shelf for about 40 years.... but should clean up nice..no broken fins, and they came with the original finned wire covers

I'm trying to figure out when they were made...anyone know?

I did a search but had no luck.
    Thanks

    Jerry

You might take a careful look inside them. Mine have a small 54 cast in them that denotes 1954 I think.

I'm thinking the '54' had reference to '354', although they fit 331 AND 354. (392 wouldn't emerge for 2 more years...)
Doesn't O'Brien Truckers cast these also??? They are beautiful......

These are sittin on my 392 and fit great. O'Brien makes something very similar but without the Edmunds name on them

Those must be quite rare. Nice find. Did Edmunds only make 2-2 intakes? Seem like that is all you see. I am wondering if they had more carb options for the big cube motors

Not sure about hemi, but Eddie Edmunds made 2x4 for the early Olds 303 cu in., plus a low rise 2x2 and a medium riser 2x2...so that's 3 intakes for just the 303 Olds from 49-53.

40 years ago I was given a basket 354 hemi with a LaSalle, it had a 2x4 manifold that sure looked like an Edmunds style...but I honestly don't recall seeing any name on it.

those valve covers are awesome, nice "complete" score

I've got an Edmunds dual quad intake for my '52 331. All of the Edmunds intakes I've seen for Chrysler hemis were for the '51-'54 engines with the thermostat housing in the intake, which makes sense, since Edmunds sold out to Fenton in late 1955.

Mine are for a Dodge so the 54 does not denote 354.

    WOW,Jerry
How do U find all this neet stuff---You should be on that Pickers TV show Ha Ha:D

  20. Awesome find.

I'd like to know if they have enough clearance for adjustable rockers. I've been told, but never confirmed it, that Edmunds and Fenton covers (which I designed mine after) were first offered in the early 50's and when the adjustable rockers came out they had a clearance iasue. After all, it's a lot harder to dimple an aluminum valve cover than a sheet metal one:rolleyes:

BTW, Mine have an extra 3/8" in height internally.

    Enjoy your great find!

    Dennis

PS, my name is on the inside:)

The single 4 bbl manifold I have that goes with the covers also has the 54 on the bottom.

The Dodge covers will not clear adjustable rockers.

They will clear them if you add a spacer under them. I'm pretty sure those are available for just that reason.

I thought about doing that but the spark plug tubes come up short.

Not sure, but maybe somebody has the longer tubes for that too?

If not and I had those covers and just had to have the adjustable rockers, I'd think you could fab some up as needed without too much effort.
