In 1965, while working as a designer for GM, Harry Bradley had his '64 Elky chopped and re-worked by the Alexander Bros. of Detroit (under the pseudonym "Designer X").
The car served as prototype for the swept back roof of the '68.

It was later reworked as "Blind Faith", with a '67 Toronado 455 and trans-axle mounted mid-ship.

Rocky, wasn't my ElCamino almost yours, I remember someone else was trying to buy it and thought they could drive it home. It was in no shape to go around the block none the less on a road trip.

I think these style wheels were made by a few different companies. My 66 gto had a set that looked like yours when I bought it. I found a almost new set in the original Rocket Wheel brand boxes
at a local sale for $150

Back in the early seventies I started with a white body, no engine, trans or right quarter and the front sheetmetal in the bed. The bed was coated with 1/2 in. + of layers of paint from its previous life. When it was done it had a 283/glide, 6" station wagon wheels with dog dishes, 12 coats of buffed out black lacquer, black interior and no air. Was my daily, oh to be young and tough again. Only pictures are color slides hidden beyond my recall.
