Holy friggin crap! Coors Banquet just came out my nose and my heart stopped for a second.
This is as close to perfect as a Vette can get.

  14. I dunno know ENLOE,,, I'd be tempted to just repaint the rims black and run it as is if it were ME. Just something about an understated Stingray that gets my blood up. Plus the stance on your car is killer.....Mitch.

It has wheels and a stance. In the 60s between Columbia, CA and Twain Harte on Yankee Hill road there was Hattler's Mill. The family that owned it had several military power wagons with station wagon bodies on them. A good friend bought one with a '57 Chevy station wagon body on it. He called it his '57 Blazer. It didn't look that good.

excuse me for asking this, but what is the difference between what we used to call "rake" and what is now called "stance"? Because I might be the most unreasonable person in the world regarding the term "stance"...... whenever I hear it, I think of Japanese cars with canted wheels running too-narrow tires on too-wide wheels. When I hear "rake", I think of hot rods, mag wheels, fat tires on the back and skinny ones up front.....

If you think it looks funny you should of rode in it. You wouldn't want to have a hot coffee in your hand when you did. Still it sure got the looks.

Rake is just a stance where the front is lower than the rear unless it'a a Power Rake where the back is lower to transfer weight. Stance is just how the car sits. A good stance is tough to achieve without the right wheels. Different cars used for different purposes don't all have the same stance. And looking through this thread we don't all agree what it is anyway.

    My take:
Just like sitting, standing, slouching, and crouching are all examples of human stances....rake is a particular kind of vehicular stance. Forward rake, rearward rake, level, slammed....all are stances. Lowriders and cars with 'bags have adjustable stances.
The tuner crowd has borrowed the word and "verbed it" to describe a very particular variation in which the tires are canted; hence, "stanced". It's not really a stance at all, but it is unique, and needed a descriptor.
So IMHO the verbed version ("stanced") belongs to the tuner world now...but "stance" is still a broad term that covers any possible way a car can sit.
