So tonight I tried to put that ****** on the flat six so I could put the enigine in tommorrow. I'm puttin' the clutch on and torqueing the pressure plate just like the book says, 35 foot lbs. and SNAP! the last ****in' bolt! I must have spent two hours gettin' that thing out! Now I have to wake up and buy another bolt in the morning. ****ty.

Yeah, well at least I got the bolt out. You know how it is though when you really want to drive your car and one stinkin' bolt makes driving one day farther away. Nope, still mad.

almost busted out all the windows on my car, over a bolt. I didn't like the thing anymore anyway, then the water pump dies on me. I go to change it, and break off one of the bolts going through the timing chain cover, into the block. Would have to take off the whole front of the motor to get it out. I damn near snapped along with that little bolt. Took it to a shop, and let them fix it, I couldn't touch that ****er without wanting to burn it down... lol.

Very frustrating experience, I can relate man...

kind of on this broken bolt topic...

my dad and i were replacing the water pump, in his 78 olds, we got it off, and when we went to torque it back on, we over tightened it, and now it wont grip in the hole at all, (we cant get to the spot-- its the bottom bolt, on the waterpump-- well hidden ) with out removing the radiator, and some of the front sheet metal... what are our options?

and to the op-- sorry, but at least you didn't crack the transmission case-- or somtething like that.

  7. Bad day---no bad week car wize for me i rebuilt my carb 3 times, no sucsess, then to day i rebuilt it the fourth and fifith times Not suprisingly it didn't work! and remeber after each time i rebuilt it i had to take it off the manifold then put it back on after words. well if i follow repoman's advise of looking on the bright side i got really good at taking off, taking apart, putting back together and reinstalling. still can't figure out how to make it work though :D

  8. Cry! :D might as well remove the **** in front of the bolt! **** besides crying that seems to be your ONLY option, good luck.
