I've been helping my son get his "new" car ready for summer. He bought this '65 Ranch Wagon in Detroit this spring, and like any semi-neglected 50 year old, it had a few issues. A previous owner had the body off, but left lots of odd stuff not done. All new brakes, dual MC, tires were first up, I just finishing up a new aluminum radiator (69 Mustang big block is ALMOST a bolt in), and trailer brake control and trailer harness wiring. The 352 runs like a watch, it drives great. It's had a used car lot repaint in the distant past, and some rust in the quarters and tailgate that I'll tackle next winter, but it's a nice 50/50 looker for now! We're giving them our little canned ham camper (not the Spartan it's backed up too in the photo!), they're looking forward to a summer of fun with the old wagon.
Nice white '65, very clean! My son has an immaculate restored silver '65 Galaxie that the previous owner installed a rebuilt 360" FE in. Low compression ratio has it slated for a 390 crank...THAT'll wake it up...
My first car was a 68 LTD squire that dad gave me. I will always have a soft place in my heart for ford wagons.
Very nice! I had a '65 Galaxie 500 in college that I should have never sold. Id love to find a Ranch Wagon or Country Sedan to replace it someday.
Was it on craigslist,I almost came up there to look at a white 65 wagon that had the body off at one time.
