Hey - Any of you Whittier natives remember a little speed shop there called "Raceway"? I hung out there some in '66/'67. It was frequented by several Bonneville types, including Jerry Kugel - before he was famous for street rod suspension parts.
I was born in Whittier went to school there,But I lived in LaHabra.Now I live in Fullerton with all the other transplants. Whitter Bul. was a very popular place on Friday and Saturday nights . Pocket just ask your pops. It used to be bumper to bumper from colima to painter,The cops would block all left hand turn lanes to keep traffic moving. I put a hundred miles on my first car in two nights just drivin back and forth. Good times!

Damn! So many Whittier people... Or Surrounding areas... I am a Whittier gal My Mama is off of Lambert and Gunn... Went to school in Downey... Also have lived in La Habra... Brea... and Fullerton haha... Now I live in Uptown Whitter and have talked my Baby 53Burb to come and live in Whittier with me... So we are gonna have a lil BBQ after we move into the new place... I spent many a weekend cruising Whittier Blvd.,in my 11sec '67 bug.We used to race on SantaFe Springs Rd.I lived in LaMirada back then.Anybody remember Scotty's?My bug club used to meet at Bobs,next to Arbys.It's gone now.Too bad theres nothing around like that anymore,where you can just cruise and talk cars,oh! and cruise betty's!!!I'm in YorbaLinda now,but i'll join you guys wherever,whenever.
