They have been on cars for over a 100 years. All collections start with one item, for me it was this one. DSCF8539.JPG

Then I found another in better condition, but the stamping was slightly different.

DSCF8538.JPG Then the collector in me got rolling, I didn't know I'd sold off so many over the years until just now looking for some special ones that are not there. Bob

DSCF8533.JPG DSCF8535.JPG They have to have a car on them to get my interest, wings are a big plus. DSCF8537.JPG DSCF8536.JPG

Really like this Carmel Mission medal, higher quality than the others, note the car has gotten a bit newer than the threesome above. :) Bob

  2. Your medals are great! Many i haven't seen before. Thanks.

here's the St. Christopher medal in my coupe. It's a pretty common one but I like it.

  3. Neat stuff. Just about every unrestored 1920s /1930s vintage car that ends up here after its long life in France has two little holes in the dash rail. Former owners have kept the St Christopher badge.

In 1993, I was 17 years old and running Super Comp at Super Chevy in Ennis, TX. Before we left, my mom gave me a st. christopher medallion. It was a super windy day... They threatened to shut the race down all during qualifying, but they didn't do so until after the first round when I put our Super Shops Camaro into the wall at 150mph wearing my new St. Christopher medallion.

So, I'm in the hospital... and my mom flies to Dallas in a mad rush to get to me. She gets there, and I give her the medallion saying it didn't work too well. After sitting with me for a while, she heads to the hotel and gets hit by a drunk driver on her way there. She ends up in the same hospital as me...

So yeah... I gotta bone to pick with ole St. Christopher.

I have 4 St. Christopher wings. One of which is on the header in my Model A. I need to clean up how its mounted as I just put it up to see how it would look.
    20180522_194506.jpg

The other 3 I mounted on a piece of steel I engine turned. Forgive the SCTA emblem that is there as well.

DSCF8569.JPG The details aren't always the best, on top of the globe are an airplane on the left and a blimp or Zeppelin on the right, car and train, and a ship on the bottom. Happy to swap this one or another for a CONNECTICUT St. Christopher. Bob

I was able to find this St. Christopher wing. Not too often do you find one that has porcelain.

:D A friend of my family always had one on a chain around his neck and screwed to the instrument panel of the P47`s he flew in Europe.Always came home safe. But he said many times damed if I know how I did.I just said thanks to St Christopher and the good Lord.
    Good luck.Have fun.Be safe.

Since it has MINNESOTA across the top, it had to become part of my collection.

Some of mine...the surfer one I have had for a long time ... I figured it would be cool to put in my woody wagon ...well I have had a few wagons through the years but none of them Woody's...so it spent some time in a 57'Chrysler Windsor Wagon .....the surfer is almost worn off..... 25. If anyone has one they'd part with I'm looking for one for my Model A. I had a few of them, but lost them in a break-in a few years ago, haven't seen one since (haven't looked toooo hard mind you).

@Ryan I think I found the problem... St. Christopher is the patron saint of hot rodders and wayward hoodlums, not Camaro-driving mamas boys :D

  26. Well I managed to kill the thread trying to be funny.:oops: Blame my mother, she had a really morbid sense of humour.
