Looking for a Cadillac Hydro

I am trying to get my wifes Cadillac to Paso this year, but the trans. has given up the ghost. Do any of you know a source for a good working hydro that will mate up to a '51 331 in the SF Bay area. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

what do you mean when you say it has "given up the ghost"?
does it not move the car at all?
or is it just acting strange?
i have all the adjusting tools & gauges,maybe it can be made to work.
a lot of times they just need to be set up properly.

 

Yorgatron knows those things! He got mine all adjusted in no time-- They are really hard to absolutely kill, so it really may be some tuning.

 

I have one from my '51 331 Caddy in Modesto if that helps.

Yorgatron... If we could arrange something that would be great. It still moves the car, but not well. 1st seems okay, it has a slow 1 - 2 shift, then most days after about a 2-3mph increase in 2nd it seems to come out of gear. The car then will only increase in speed after you increase the throttle enought to move the kickdown lever. I adjusted the external band adjustments a little (didn't know what we were doing) and made it work well enough to drive to and from my wedding, and now she sits.

I'm not asking for a hand out, I know time is worth a lot to people, and I am more than willing to pay for it if you can help me out.

wish you were nearbye, im TRIPPING over my olds one, and it should bolt up fine, weve done it before... just shorter...

 

i just need to be reimbursed for the pan gasket and the gas to get there.
if there happens to be some BBQ or a pizza when i get there,so much the better

this isn't about helping YOU in particular
it's really about keeping you from installing a 350/350 if at all possible.

Saw something that suggested you might have Olds parts.
If so,I'm looking for a GOOD set of 324 rods for my '56.
I could also use a nice oilpan(mine has dents)
