Looks like this one had 1956 Olds headlight rims at a previous stage - or needs them - looking at the "mismatch" with the present set-up...

 

The "mismatch" is factory. 1954 Lincoln:

 

Not a fan of any of Gimelli's cars, but he definitely uses some unique ideas incorporated into his builds...

Yes I agree.... I respect the craftsmanship with some of the kustom details.

 

I was just going to say...that dude is thinking outside the box!

 

I'm thinking he short changed the build on the hubcaps. It needs a set of Ben Hur inspired caps .

 

Okay, this is going to be a MAJOR stretch, but my father told me repeatedly about the 1953 Studebaker that he customized in 1961. He lived in Tallmadge [Akron] Ohio at the time. The only two details I remember are that he put 1959 Chevy grilles into the stock openings and extended the rear fenders and put some other taillights on it. He had no photos of the car.
Could this be that car?? I would be shocked if it survived all these years, but...
