I can't figure out if I have 2 different Hemi chain drive parts or if there is an aluminum plate that I'm missing that is in the center. It has one hell of a gap near the bottom.
One (first pic Right one) uses a flat plate between it and the engine block and the other (first pic Left one) goes against the engine block and uses a flat finned cover...MG.
WAG=Wise *** guess. SWAG=Scientific wise *** guess. 2 different setups for different engines? Missing parts? Good luck. I am Butch/56sedandelivery.
It looks like exactly what Seb Fontana said. It actually works out better, 2 Hemi chain drives for the price of one with only a little machining of a plate and a cover.
The rear portion does look like my Hemi setup missing the finned flat cover. Let me know if you need any more pics or measurements. -Andy Sent from my Pixel 2 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
Throttle linkage from pedal and return spring are hard to see but they are there, other than the hemi plug covers being missing what’s left?
Looks like the whole lower two thirds is missing, don't see how the water pump would allow it. You might post here for info. https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/chain-drive-blowers.229516/
Chevy water pump with spacers, and the chain drive cover must be modified with a through hole and a seal so a custom crank hub can drive the pump and alternator. Hot rodder’s ingenuity at it’s best.
Plain as day in the photo, I see a spacer, water pump, pulley and belt, and the alternator. How else would it be done if not a crank pulley?
funny...in my uncle's stuff there were A LOT of gear drives/sprockets/chains/bearings that were NOS.....not sure but he did say he built some blowers for extra money....
Okay....I've stashed most of the chain - which is small chain and small gear - and most of the sprockets somewhere....here were some that were in his tool box....there were the br***/copper bushings as well....the bearings are small too...
Did he ever have or work on farm equipment. Most likely those aren't automotive. Sent from my VS988 using The H.A.M.B. mobile app
